About the Role

We’re looking for a talented student passionate about gaming and marketing to join our team as a Marketing Intern. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain early career experience, make your resume shine, and work with industry professionals. You’ll be involved in various marketing activities, learning from experts, and contributing to exciting projects that will help you land your dream job in the gaming industry. We’ve mentored and hired several interns who have gone on to achieve amazing things in the industry! We’re building a v1 game, so passion and experience in gaming is a huge plus.

Requirements

  • Responsibilities

    • Social Media Management:

      • Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing content across various social media platforms specific to gaming communities (e.g., Discord, Twitch, Reddit, Twitter).

      • Engage with the gaming community by responding to comments, messages, and discussions.

      • Help analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies to improve community engagement and reach.

    • Influencer and Streamer Outreach

      • Help identify and establish relationships with gaming influencers and streamers.

      • Assist in coordinating influencer and streamer campaigns to promote games and updates.

      • Track and report on campaign performance, including viewership and engagement metrics.

    • Content Creation and Copywriting

      • Assist in writing compelling copy for social media posts, game descriptions, newsletters, and other marketing materials.

      • Collaborate with the design and game development teams to help create visual and video content.

      • Ensure all content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone.

    • Public Relations Support

      • Assist in preparing press releases, media kits, and other PR materials tailored for the gaming industry.

      • Help coordinate with gaming media outlets to secure coverage and reviews.

      • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on PR campaign performance.

    • Marketing Campaign Support

      • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for game launches, updates, and events.

      • Conduct market research to identify gaming trends, audience preferences, and competitive analysis.

      • Track campaign performance and compile detailed reports on metrics such as player acquisition and retention.

    • Event Coordination

      • Support the planning and execution of gaming events, including virtual launches, tournaments, and conventions (e.g., E3, PAX, Gamescom).

      • Help coordinate logistics, materials, and communication for events.

      • Attend events and represent the studio as needed, engaging with the gaming community and media.

    Requirements

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Specialization in gaming or digital media is a plus.

    • Strong written and verbal communication

    • Basic understanding of SEO, web traffic metrics, and game analytics.

    • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Wix, Word Press) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, especially with creative and development teams.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas for engaging the gaming community.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.

    • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

    • Enthusiastic and passionate about video games and the gaming industry.

    • Must be able to be an independent contractor in the US.

    • Good human, fun to work with, and driven.

     

    Preferred

    • Passionate gamer with a deep understanding of gaming culture and trends.

    • Familiarity with social media platforms and tools relevant to gamers (e.g., Discord, Twitch, Reddit).

    • Experience as a video game streamer with an understanding of streaming platforms and audience engagement.
